Northern Inland Lakes Citizens Fishery Advisory Committee
The Northern Inland Lakes Citizen Fishery Advisory Committee was established in 2009 by Kelley Smith, previous Fisheries Chief of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). The membership consists of nearly 30 representatives from lake associations, MDNR Fisheries Division, Tribes, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, business interests, fishing associations, anglers, stakeholders and others from across the State. The group meets in the spring and fall each year to discuss fishery management directions for Black, Burt, Mullett, Crooked and Pickerel Lakes and the connecting rivers that form the Inland Waterway. The mission of the Northern Inland Lakes Citizen Fishery Advisory Committee is to review and provide recommendations and direction into the fishery goals, objectives and management plans for the Waterway. The Hammond Bay Area Anglers Association is represented on the Committee.
