Chinook salmon fishing has been descent this past week.  Most boats are getting between 1-3 per boat and the fish are running larger than normal.  Best depths have been anywhere from 40-80ft of water and running lines throughout the water column.  Downriggers, dipsy divers and lead core is what anglers are using.  A variety of baits have been good.  Try spoons dodgers hootchy mammas flashers and j-plugs for best results.  Good colors have been greens, purple, blue, silver, black and white.  Most of the action has been south of the harbor between Calcite to Adams Pt.  Anglers are also fishing up the lake with success of a mixed bag consisting of Chinooks, lake trout, walleye, coho, atlantics and an occasional steelhead.  Best depths have been 45-120ft of water fishing throughout water column.  Lots and lots of baitfish have been around so expect the fish to be feeding on the small smelt to fatten up for the winter.

Cold water and lots of baitfish have been present.  Anglers did well with a mix bag of a few salmon Atlantics, coho and Chinooks along with lakers and walleye.  Best has been straight out of Rockport towards Middle Island and the wreck and north towards Stoneport and False Presque Isle.  Best depths have been anywhere from  45-120ft of water.  Spoons body baits have worked well.  Flashers and attractors with spin-glos have taken the lakers.
